Child killed and 5 injured in J&K blast

According to the police, an explosion in the village of Dangri in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the death of a child and at least five injuries. The explosion was heard close to the residence of one of the terrorist attack victims.

"A blast has taken near the house of the first firing incident. Five people have been injured. One child has died of injuries and another is critical. Media personnel are requested to be cautious. Another suspected IED spotted which is being cleared," a police official said.

According to police, the event happened during a significant search and cordon operation to find two alleged terrorists who were involved in the attack. The relatives of the victims of the event would receive Rs. 10 lakh in compensation and a government position, according to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He stated that Rs 1 lakh would be handed to the badly injured.

"I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Rajouri. I assure the people that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families," Mr Sinha said in a tweet.

The village chief also mentioned the "failures of administration." After one of the injured people passed away in the hospital, the number of fatalities in the district's terrorist attack is increased to four.

The death count in terrorist attack has climbed to four after one of the injured civilians died in hospital. Nine others injured in the incident are being treated, and doctors at the Government Medical College, Rajouri, said the condition of some of them is "very critical".

The victims have been identified as Deepak Kumar, Satish Kumar and Pritam Lal and Shiv Pal. This is the second incident of civilian killings in Rajouri district in the past two weeks, after two people were killed outside an Army camp on December 16.
