Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar and his wife Pratibha Pawar arrived in Ahmedabad to attend a lunch hosted by entrepreneur Gautam Adani at his home. Pawar had defended Adani despite the opposition parties' attacks on him following the Hindenburg report's claim that the group was "targeted."
The Adani Group was accused of stock manipulation by a US-based short-seller, Hindenburg Research. In less than a year, the millionaire industrialist and the NCP leader had met three times. Adani most recently paid Pawar a visit in June in Mumbai.
Along with Adani, Pawar travelled from the airport to launch the nation's first lactoferrin facility at Exympower in Chacharwadi, Ahmedabad district. Sources claim that the company is run by a businessman from Pune who is establishing his lactoferrin manufacturing facility in Gallops Industrial Park-II in Ahmedabad.
Later in the day, Pawar took to microblogging site, X, to post, “It was a privilege to inaugurate India’s first Lactoferrin Plant Exympower in Vasna, Chacharwadi, Gujarat along with Gautam Adani.”
“While the NCP chief had to inaugurate a factory in Ahmedabad along with Adani, he and his wife were also part of a private programme held by Adani Foundation,” said Jayant Patel, president, NCP, Gujarat.
