Justice Sunita Agarwal sworn in as Gujarat HC CJ

Justice Sunita Agarwal was sworn in as the 29th Chief Justice of Gujarat high court. Governor Acharya Devvrat administered the oath of office at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

Justice Sunita graduated in law from Awadh University in 1989 and embarked on her journey as an advocate on December 16, 1990. Over the years, Justice Agarwal built her expertise mainly on the civil side at the Allahabad high court.

She first stepped into the legal system on November 21, 2011, as an additional judge, and on August 6, 2013, the Allahabad High Court elevated her to the position of permanent judge. Justice Sunita will hold her new position until April 9, 2028, when she is scheduled to retire. Among those present at the swearing-in ceremony were CS Raj Kumar, assembly speaker Shankar Chaudhary, CM Bhupendra Patel, and several judges.
