Congress legislator Rajendra Singh Gudha, who was recently dismissed as minister, demanded to speak about a mysterious “red diary” that he alleged had incriminating details that could send CM Ashok Gehlot “to prison”.
However, the speaker refused, and BJP MLAs protested by rushing to the well of the House, shouting slogans and waving red diaries. Amidst the turmoil, Gudha attempted to approach the speaker’s chair, demanding a platform to speak.
Gudha then aggressively approached parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal, seemingly attempting to manhandle him. Reacting swiftly, Congress MLA Rafiq Khan and minister Ramlal Jat intervened, pushing Gudha away to protect Dhariwal.
Other MLAs rushed to the scene as things got more heated in an effort to control the fired minister. The house was eventually delayed after marshals eventually removed Gudha from the session. Following the bedlam, Dhariwal proposed the suspension of both Gudha and BJP MLA Madan Dilawar for their “unruly behaviour”. The proposal was subsequently passed by the House, marking a rare move as a governing party MLA was suspended along with an opposition member for the remainder of the current assembly’s term.
Dhariwal asserted that Gudha was trying to hurt him physically and emphasized the importance of the marshals' quick action in averting a "big incident". Gudha's behavior was labelled "shameful and unparliamentary" by Dhariwal.
Outside the assembly, Gudha addressed the media, alleging that he had been manhandled by Congress MLAs within the state assembly. “The red diary will lead Gehlot to jail. It will expose the chief minister. I was blocked from tabling the red diary in the assembly today. I was thrashed. Congress MLAs and ministers manhandled me. I was asked to apologise, but I will not. Why should I apologise? I simply spoke the truth about atrocities on women in the state,” he said.
