Deepika Padukone is a multi-talented and accomplished person. She has consistently delivered outstanding performances in various roles, and proven her range and versatility as an actress. The actress and businesswoman has not only created a loyal fan base in India, but also in the West. She has featured in a Hollywood film titled ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ alongside Vin Diesel.

The actress has often spoken to the media about how she is not happy with the overall representation of South Asian people in Hollywood. Recently, talking about South Asian representation in the West and the kind of roles that she would like to play in Hollywood, Deepiak said, “I think we have a long way to go when it comes to South Asian representation. So I think that’s what I am looking for. I am done for all of us- on behalf of all of us- being the Indian doctor in a movie or the Indian Taxi driver. I want to be Wonder Woman , I want to be Bat Woman and there’s no reason, and when I say I, I mean we. There’s no reason why I want us to be Barbie. I want us to be all of those things and there’s no reason why we can’t be. And so the choice of or the decision to not do these movies is an intentional decision to say- bring me, bring us something that is worth our talent, worth our while, and worth our energy.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone has some major projects in the pipeline. She is all set to star with Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan in 'Project K,' the release date of which was announced today. She will also feature in the Hindi remake of 'The Intern.'
