Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held her daughter's wedding at home, avoiding the trend of a big fat destination wedding. It was a simple ceremony held in Bengaluru with family and friends. No political heavyweights were in attendance.
Parakala Vangamayi, a daughter of Sitharaman, married Prateek in accordance with Brahmin custom, and the couple was blessed by seers from the Udupi Adamaru Mutt.
As per media reports, Sitharaman's daughter Vangmayi works as a feature writer for Mint Lounge's Books and Culture section. Her son-in-law Pratik Doshi hails from Gujarat and works as an officer on special duty at the PMO. He was promoted to the position of joint secretary in June 2019. As per media reports, he looks after the research and strategy wing of the PMO.
