The Adani Group has announced plans to form a joint venture and enter the green hydrogen industry in Japan. In a 50-50 joint venture with Kowa Holdings Asia Pte Limited, Adani Global Pte Limited, a division of Adani Enterprises Limited, would be based in Singapore. The collaboration will specialise in the sale and marketing of green ammonia, green hydrogen, and related products, with a primary focus on the Japanese, Taiwanese, and Hawaiian markets.
Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), a subsidiary of Adani Group, has already committed $50 billion in investment over the next decade to establish a green hydrogen manufacturing capacity of 3 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA). A 1 MMTPA green hydrogen plant is being built as part of the first phase, which is currently in progress. The strategy of ANIL includes the building of an integrated hydrogen ecosystem with three primary business segments: supply chain product manufacturing, green hydrogen production, and downstream derivative production.
