The biggest office building in the world has been established in Surat, Gujarat. For more than 80 years, the Pentagon, which serves as the seat of the US Department of Defense, held the title of largest office complex in the world. However, it is overtaken by a structure in Surat that will serve as a center for diamond trading to take the title of largest office building in the world.
Surat Diamond Bourse, the newly constructed building, is a 15-storey building, according to a report. Spread across 35 acres, the building has nine rectangular structures and 7.1 million square feet of floor space.
Prime minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to open the Surat Diamond Bourse. The structure can serve a commercial center's auxiliary but traditional demands, such as multipurpose banquet halls. In addition to the projected allied facilities for custom offices, banking facilities, auction houses, and safe deposit vaults, there will be conference rooms, banquet halls, restaurants, kitchens, and dining areas for all. Advanced security measures will be used to protect every business and area while still ensuring traveler connectivity.
For ease of travellers and vehicle parking, there is 20,00,000 sq.ft. basement area, planned for organised vehicle parking. With distinct entry and exit locations and a one-way traffic circulation on the peripheral internal road, the traffic arrangement limits possible points of vehicular conflict and decreases traffic congestion. The traffic layout gives provision for cars, taxis, autos, service vehicles/goods, vehicles, custom vehicles and two-wheelers, along with specific entry/exit for dedicated service vehicles.
