Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh surprised his fans by taking on the Coachella stage over the weekend. The first Punjabi singer to perform at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, Dosanjh fashioned a black kurta and tamba during his performance. He also donned a turban and sunglasses to finish his look.
American DJ Diplo took to Instagram to share a clip of himself grooving to Diljit’s live act. The music festival’s official Twitter handle also shared a glimpse of his performance with their fans. The singer had posted snippets from backstage as he prepped before his performance. Dosanjh’s fans dropped heartfelt comments on the posts. Bollywood stars, too, conveyed their happiness at the performance.
Alia Bhatt called his performance “EPIC!!!” Sonam Kapoor shared a video on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Insane! I wish I was there!” Actor Arjun Rampal wrote, "A true rock star legend." Punjabi artiste Jassie Gill also commented with several fire emojis, while rapper Raja Kumari added, “HISTORY!"
This year’s Coachella line-up featured Pakistani singer and ‘Pasoori’ fame artist Ali Sethi. There also were international acts from BLACKPINK, Kid Laroi, Charli XCX, Labrinth, Jai Wolf, Joy Crookes, Jai Paul, Frank Ocean, and Underworld.
