Home minister Amit Shah inspected the security grid's operation as well as all other security-related issues in Jammu and Kashmir and underlined the Narendra Modi administration's unwavering commitment to the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism.
Shah also went through the G20 conference preparations that would take place in Srinagar and gave orders for all pertinent organisations to coordinate their efforts to ensure a successful occasion. Shah evaluated the operation of the security grid and several security-related issues at the security review meeting, which was also attended by Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, according to an official release.
He also went over the area domination strategy, the zero terror policy, the law-and-order situation, UAPA-related matters, and other security-related matters. Shah commended the administration and security agencies of Jammu and Kashmir for their efforts in reducing cross-border infiltration significantly and improving the situation with regard to law and order. He also emphasised the importance of bolstering regular policing.
Meanwhile, India dismissed Pakistan’s objection to the hosting of the G20 meetings in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and said these conferences are being organised across the country and it is “natural” to hold them in the two union territories too as they are its “integral and inalienable” part. India is hosting a meeting of the G20 Tourism Working Group in Srinagar in May while a youth engagement group meeting is scheduled to take place in Leh later this month.
