Suriya has joined forces with director Siva of ‘Viswasam’ fame for their upcoming movie ‘Kanguva.’ The news has amplified the enthusiasm of the actor’s supporters.
Now, in an exciting update, the co-producer of the movie, Studio Green, unveiled a captivating photo of the actor mid-workout, flaunting his well-defining biceps. The brief 10-second clip features just a single image accompanied by a captivating background score of ‘Kanguva.’ Studio Green captioned the clip, “It’s #Kanguva mode.”
Bankrolled by Gnanvel Raja for Studio Green, the movie will mark the Tamil debut of Disha Patani, while Devi Sri Prasad will compose the film’s songs. While Gnanvel has already announced that it will be the costliest movie in Suriya’s career and that Siva was building a whole new world for the period thriller, the director recently explained what it meant. Explaining the meaning of the name, Siva said Kangu meant ‘fire’ in Tamil and that Kanguva was about a person who could wield fire.
However, he also cautioned not to take the word's literal meaning and think Suriya would be playing a man with a superpower. “The mythology-like setting might lead someone to believe this is a fantasy. However, ‘Kanguva’ is not a fantasy film and Suriya sir’s character does not have any superpowers,” he told the publication.
Meanwhile, it was reported that the historical fictional film’s digital rights were sold at an unprecedented price. According to producer Gnanavel, the film’s South Indian digital rights alone were sold to Amazon Prime Video for £8 million.
‘Kanguva’ will release in 3D in 10 languages in 2024. It will be co-produced by UV Creations. While Adi Narayana wrote the screenplay for the film, Madan Karky penned the dialogue. Suriya recently wrapped up a schedule for the movie in Kodaikanal.
