Actor Alia Bhatt has become the first Indian to represent the Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci worldwide. The brand shared pictures of Alia on its Instagram profile with the caption, “Alia Bhatt is the House’s newest Global Brand Ambassador. To mark the occasion, the actress, producer, and entrepreneur was captured with the Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag.”
Alia also took to the social media platform to reshare the pictures with the caption, “I’m honoured to represent the house of Gucci not only in India but at a global stage. Gucci’s legacy has always inspired and intrigued me and I’m looking forward to the many sartorial milestones we create together.”
Gucci’s Cruise 2024 show took place at Seoul’s Gyeongbokgung Palace on May 16, showcasing the brand’s 25-year presence in South Korea. Originally scheduled for May 15, the show was moved to commemorate Gucci’s inaugural store opening in Seoul in 1998. The event was staged in front of Geunjeongjeon, the principal hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, renowned for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming foreign dignitaries during the Joseon Dynasty (1392 to 1910).
The cruise collection was crafted by Gucci’s in-house team, as newly appointed creative director Sabato De Sarno’s inaugural designs for the brand will be unveiled in September, following the departure of Alessandro Michele in November.
