Actress Ramya Krishnan has been in the film industry since 1984, when she debuted with ‘Vellai Manasu.’ Since then, she has continuously embraced roles spanning multiple languages. The actress recently appeared on the big screen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s recent action-thriller ‘Jailer,’ wherein she shares the screen with Rajinikanth again.

In a recent interview, the actor revealed all factors behind her shift towards undertaking more Telugu films during her initial days, as opposed to those in the Tamil industry. Pointing out that even the Tamil films that emerged as hits didn’t give her any mileage, Ramya said, “I was not a good performer then. After watching Muthal Vasantham (1986), my mother asked me how I had survived this long. I wasn’t there to receive the appreciation for the role. Sathyaraj sir and Malaysia Vasudevan sir were the stars of that film. It didn’t help me.”

She also recalled that many of her early projects, despite being highly anticipated, bombed at the box office, which also contributed to her choice to switch to the Telugu film industry and accept whatever opportunities came her path.
