To promote medical tourism and medical education tourism under the auspices of Sardar Patel University and Gujarat Tourism Corporation Ltd., Bhaikaka University, Karamsad hosted the NRI meet on March 4, 2023. There were about 63 NRI fans and well-wishers who signed up, mostly from the US and the UK.
Atul Patel (President, Bhaikaka University, and Chairman, Charutar Arogya Mandal), Jagrut Bhatt (Hon. Secretary, Bhaikaka University, and Member, Governing Body, Charutar Arogya Mandal), Dr. Utpala Kharod (Provost, Bhaikaka University), Dr. Niranjanbhai Patel (Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Patel University), and Surendrabhai Patel (Leader NRI Patrons) shared the dais.
According to Jagrut Bhatt, with the cooperation of Gujarat Tourism and Sardar Patel University, we were able to organise an NRI meet. We also appreciate the support of the Dharmaj society of London, an NRI patron in the UK and the US, which has consistently assisted us in generating money.
Dr. Nirajanbhai Patel said, “Sardar Patel University receives Rs 75,00,000 grant from the Gujarat Government for developing tourism in the periphery of Sardar Patel University. Every year, approximately 2 million patients visit India for medical treatment. Among the visitors are citizens of Turkey, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, Iraq, the Maldives, Nigeria, and Kenya. These counties have subpar healthcare facilities. NRI patients from industrialised nations also favour receiving medical care in India due to the lengthy wait times and expensive prices of care. Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad, is providing the best medical treatment at a subsidized rate. The hospital has modern facilities and an efficient team of doctors."
