Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' took off on a high last week, becoming the biggest Hindi opener ever. Helmed by Atlee, the movie earned £7.5 million in India on its first day for all languages. In three days, the film amassed £35 million gross at the worldwide box office.
A high-octane thriller, 'Jawan' outlines the story of a man who sets out to correct the wrongs of society. It touches upon social issues like corruption, farmer suicide, government apathy, faulty army weapons and dangerous factories operating near residential areas. Presented by Red Chillies Entertainment, it is produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma.
Apart from Shah, the film also stars Vijay Sethupathi as arms dealer villain Kalee and Nayanthara as an honest cop Narmada. 'Jawan' also stars Deepika Padukone in an extended cameo. Other actors in supporting roles include Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, and Aaliyah Qureshi.
Google celebrates 'Jawan'
Google India celebrated 'Jawan's release. Taking to X, Google wrote, "Bekarar karke humein, Yun na jaaiye, aapko humari kasam… Google par Jawan search kar aaiye (search Jawan on Google)." It further guided followers on the steps: "Step 1: Search for Jawan or SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), Step 2: Click on the walkie-talkie (sound on), Step 3: Keep tapping to unwrap a surprise, Step 4: Show us what your screen looks like…"
When a person types and searches the movie or SRK on the Google search bar, a red walkie-talkie appears on screen, and Shah Rukh's voice says, "ready." As one clicks the icon, bandage rolls continue covering the screen.
