According to a regulatory filing, Reliance Industries (RIL) aims to build an integrated fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) organisation with intentions to enter nearly all product categories and an equal emphasis on backend sourcing. Newly floated FMCG flagship Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL) said it intends to enter the entire spectrum of domestic, household and consumer goods such as pharmaceuticals, food products and beverages, agri and non-agricultural produce, commodities, educational, raw, processed and commercial products. The filing was made to the Registrar of Companies, as per media reports.
The business added that it will engage in all agricultural and related activities, such as crop-raising and plantation, to have a full play in backend sourcing. According to a media report, Reliance Consumer Products also declared that it would enter the dairy, agro-based, animal husbandry, and other industries. Four additional directors have been added to the board by RCPL. They include managing director of holding company Reliance Retail Ventures V Subramaniam, T Krishnakumar, who joined the group in 2021 from Coca-Cola, US-based management academician Dipak C Jain, and managing director of EMA Partners India K Sudarshan.
