Ayodhya’s Ram Temple will be ready on January 1, 2024 stated by Union home minister Amit Shah while addressing a public rally in Tripura. He continued by stating that the Supreme Court's decision on the case came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office and that the Congress had been obstructing the Ram Temple building case in courts ever since India gained its freedom.

“The Ram Temple issue was being stalled by the Congress ever since the independence. It was after when PM Modi came to power that the Supreme Court gave its verdict and the construction of the temple began the same day following a ‘bhoomipujan’,” Shah said addressing the public.

Shah recalled that while he was the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019, Rahul Gandhi, the president of the Congress at the time, used to ask about the dates for the temple's construction. He urged all in attendance to get their tickets in advance because "on January 1, 2024, sky high Ram Temple will stand ready there" (Ayodhya).

Prior to the speech, the Union minister launched the "Jan Vishwas Yatra" in an effort to broaden the BJP's support base in Tripura ahead of this year's assembly elections. He blamed the state's roughly three decades of Communist control for "violence, border invasions, and drug trafficking."

"In its 50-year history, Tripura has spent more than three decades under Communist government," he continued. I want to just ask, the violence and the cadre-based rule that was prevalent in the Communist time, is it seen today?"
