NASA’s new chief technologist, AC Charania: An Indian-American expert in the aerospace sector has been named as NASA's next top technologist. He will be Administrator Bill Nelson's primary counsellor on technology policy and initiatives at the space agency’s headquarters here. A.C. Charania joined the space agency in his new role on January 3.
He takes over after Bhavya Lal, another Indian-American scientist who served as acting chief technologist until the former was hired. In his new role, Charania will manage technology collaboration with other federal agencies, the private sector, and external stakeholders in addition to coordinating NASA's agency-wide technology investments with mission needs across six mission directorates, the space agency said in a statement on Monday.
