A man from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh who had been cleared of gang rape accusations has asked the state government for more than Rs 10,000 crore in damages, claiming that his imprisonment had put his family in danger of going hungry.

Of the Rs 10,006.02 crore compensation, the man has sought Rs 2 lakh towards the”loss of God’s gift to human’s e.g. sexual pleasure”, as per his petition. According to his attorney Vijay Singh Yadav, Kantu, alias Kantilal Bheel (35), moved the district and sessions court after a municipal court on October 20, 2022, dismissed the gang rape charges. When questioned about the enormous compensation, Yadav responded that Rs 10,000 crore had been requested because "human life is important," and the remaining Rs 6.02 crore was for a variety of reasons, including legal costs of Rs 2 lakh and the hardship and mental anguish endured by his family.
