A well-known neurologist and Padma Shri Dr Sudhir Shah from Ahmedabad, Gujarat was conferred with the prestigious Fellowship FRCP Award by the Royal College of Physicians, London, last week at a function held at St Andrew Place, Regent's Park.
The Indian government awarded Padma Shri to Dr Shah in 2016, Dr. BC Roy Award in 2018 and UN's Award for Development of Neurology and Medicine. He was also a winner of the FAAN award by the Fellowship of the American College of Neurology in 2022. Dr Shah has won many prestigious awards at the national and international level. Dr Shah is a teacher, orator, writer, scientist, scholar, musician, philanthropist and businessman. He made a significant impact by creating and elevating a number of courses for neurologists in Gujarat. He is also credited with launching the first courses in Gujarat for IV & IA Thrombosis, Epilepsy, Parkinson Surgery (DBS), and Neurology.
He published four books in English, Gujarati, and Hindi to help the underprivileged and educate them about such complex topics as neurology and medicine. These books sold over 7,000 copies, and money from their sale was donated to the poor and needy.
