A man from Vadodara has landed in soup after he dropped name of the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) while trying to secure admissions for two sons of an Army man. After Mayank Tiwari, a Vadodara resident, introduced himself as an employee of the PMO, the school management grew suspicious and registered an offence at the Waghodiya police station.

Tiwari had contacted the New Era Secondary School located in Nizampura in March 2022 for admission of his friend’s two sons. He introduced himself as a director of strategic advisory and director of government advisory in the PMO when he met school authorities.

After functionaries at the school asked Tiwari to meet Dr Devanshu Patel, the trustee of the school at Parul University, he went there and met Devanshu’s wife Dr Geetika Patel. During interaction, Tiwari discussed education and even said that he could work with the institute in the field of education.

He even said that he could get research projects and claimed that he could help with permissions, but the expenses will have to be borne by the university. Tiwari was asked to go back to the school and complete formalities for the education. The parents of the two boys went through the admission process of the school and were granted an admission.

The management, however, made discreet inquiries about Tiwari. Recently they came to know that Tiwari had nothing to do with the PMO. Following this the school authorities filed an offence against Tiwari and he was arrested.
