Actress Sara Ali Khan is busy promoting her new film ‘Gaslight.’ During one of the film’s promotional events, she confessed she and her younger brother Ibrahim Ali Khan have played up being children of divorced parents and tried to play victims against them. She shared that they asked for things from their parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, when they were younger, knowing they might feel guilty about the divorce. She also joked that she does it sometimes at her current age.
Saif and Amrita tied the knot in January 1991 and divorced in 2004 after 13 years of marriage. Sara was born on August 12, 1995, and Ibrahim on March 5, 2001. Saif married actress Kareena Kapoor in 2012, and they have two children, six-year-old Taimur Ali Khan and two-year-old Jehangir Ali Khan.
During an interview for her upcoming Disney+ Hotstar film, Sara was asked if she and her brother have ever gaslit their parents. The young actor admitted that she had. She said, "Sometimes, we played the victim card. Like the obvious way, in my family dynamic. Like, ‘Abba is not here mummy, give this to us,’ at the age of 11, or, ‘Abba, you don’t live with us, give this to us,’ at the age of 15.” Sara also joked that sometimes she has done even now. She laughed and said, "Replace 11 and 15 with 26.”
In Pawan Kripalani's ‘Gaslight,’ Sara plays a young woman who comes back home to find her father missing. She suspects foul play, but no one seems to believe her. Chitrangda Singh and Vikrant Massey also star in the thriller.
