Emma Raducanu was sitting her A-levels in economics and math just two months before making her debut at Wimbledon in June.
The 19-year-old enjoyed an astonishing breakout year in tennis as she won the US Open and became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977.
Emma has now been crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2021.
She had delivered a dominant display in her second only Grand Slam event as she did not lose a set on her way to winning the US Open.
Emma says she has watched Sports Personality of the Year growing up and it’s an honour to be amongst those past winners.
