Chennai: DMK treasurer and youth wing leader M K Stalin denied reports of a rift between him and his father and party chief M Karunanidhi. Stalin asserted that attempts in some quarters to drive a wedge between him and the party’s unquestioned leader Karunanidhi would not succeed. In a statement, he said those who were actually behind such attempts would fall a prey to their own designs. Stalin, who has been meeting party leaders, functionaries and seniors across the state, said he had the blessings of both Karunanidhi and general secretary K Anbazhagan before undertaking this exercise. Though Karuanidhi at 90 continued to work for the DMK, Stalin said he was going around as his father could not travel much.
