Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan expressed his eagerness to work in a Tamil film as he recalled his ‘old bond’ with this city. Abhishek, who is the owner of the Chennai franchise in Indian Super League (ISL), is also looking forward to spend some sporting days here as the glamorous soccer event unfolds. “I would love to and I am dying to do a Tamil film,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Chennai.
Abhishek, who was part of many Hindi projects of Tamil diretors Mani Ratnam and the late Jeeva, said that he had shot several times in Chennai and had many friends here. He mentioned his favourites Tamil icons Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and said he has a ‘soft corner’ for another tinsel town hero, Vikram. Vikram had donned the role of Bachchan in the Tamil version of Mani Ratnam-directed ‘Raavan’ and is credited as a versatile star adept at slipping with ease into any challenging role.
