HC query over Jaya's portraits at govt offices

Madurai: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court sought the response of Tamil Nadu chief secretary to a public interest litigation that prayed for the court's direction to remove the portraits of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa from government offices and her name and photos from welfare schemes. The division bench of justices V Dhanapalan and V M Velumani directed the government side to receive chief secretary's response to the petition filed by S Karunanidhi, joint secretary of the Madurai Bar Association.
