24 year-old Hamayun Khan, resident of Castle Bromwich, was found guilty of raping an eighteen-year-old girl who he filmed in her semi-unconscious state afterwards. The footage was described as brutal and Khan has received a 10 year jail sentence as well as being registered as a sex offender for life.

Khan was on a work trip to Norwich when he met the vulnerable victim. Taking advantage of her depressed condition, he lured her to a hotel room where they both drank alcohol before he attacked.

In a chilling statement from the victim's mother, the court heard that her daughter had tried to commit suicide and had become very anxious around men. The court ruled that there was a “high risk” that other women would be in danger if Khan walked free. Detective Constable Paul White, who was in charge of the investigation, stated: “Khan took advantage of a very vulnerable young woman who was going through a particularly difficult time in her life.
