UK firms have created 100,000 jobs in TN

Companies from the United Kingdom have created 100,000 jobs in Tamil Nadu, including 30,000 in Chennai. An official release said Vince Cable, British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, provided this information at his interaction with Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and senior officials of the government recently. Cable, who led a delegation, said the UK’s investments in India was higher than in the United States and Japan combined. The State government invited the UK to participate in the Global Investors Meet proposed to be held in Chennai in 2015. They also discussed the recent programme to send five teachers and 25 students of Government Arts and Science Colleges to British universities, technical cooperation and exchange of information and best practices in public-private partnerships for infrastructure projects.
