England's Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) has penalised Varun Chopra and Jamie Porter following directions from England and Wales Cricket Board. Chopra was reported by umpires Neil Bainton and Peter Hartley during Warwickshire’s Specsavers County Championship match against Durham on 23rd – 26th August 2016, for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action).

Porter was reported for the same Level One offence by umpires Billy Taylor and Nick Cook during Essex’s Specsavers County Championship match against Leicestershire on 23rd – 26th August 2016.

The penalty for each of these offences is a reprimand. These penalties will remain on their records for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
