India impressed at the Spanish Para Badminton International 2026, with Pramod Bhagat emerging as the standout performer.
The Paralympic champion secured one gold and two silver medals, leading India’s strong campaign. He clinched gold in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 event alongside Manisha Ramdass, defeating compatriots Nitesh Kumar and Thulasimathi Murugesan in straight games.
Bhagat also claimed silver in the men’s singles SL3 final after losing to Nitesh Kumar 10-21, 17-21.
Pramod Bhagat added a second silver in the men’s doubles SL3-SU5 event with Sukant Kadam, losing in three games to Naveen Sivakumar and Surya Kant Yadav.
Bhagat said he was pleased to win a gold and two silvers in Toledo, adding that the strong competition, especially against Indian teammates, has boosted his confidence for upcoming events.
India enjoyed a successful campaign overall, with Nitesh Kumar winning gold in men’s singles SL3, while Manasi Joshi and Thulasimathi Murugesan took gold in women’s doubles. Murugesan also clinched gold in women’s singles SU5, with Manisha Ramdass finishing with silver, as India secured multiple podium finishes.
