Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest centurion in men’s Twenty20 cricket as he guided Rajasthan Royals to an eight-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans in an IPL match in Jaipur. Suryavanshi doled out severe punishment to Gujarat’s bowling attack, hitting 11 sixes and seven fours in his 101 off 38 balls, as the hosts chased down a 209-run target in 15.5 overs. The left-hander reached his 100 in 35 balls to register the second-fastest century in IPL history, while combining with Yashasvi Jaiswal in a 166-run opening partnership.

“It is a very good feeling. It’s my first hundred in the IPL and it’s my third innings. The result has shown here after the practice before the tournament,” the player of the match, Suryavanshi, said. “I just see the ball and play. It has been a dream to get a 100 in the IPL, and today, it materialised. There is no fear. I don’t think much, I just focus on playing.” Suryavanshi’s century was also the quickest by an Indian in the IPL, bettering Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball effort for Rajasthan against the Mumbai Indians in 2010. He played in the domestic Ranji Trophy red-ball competition aged 12 last year and has represented India’s Under-19 side against Australia, scoring a 58-ball century.

Krunal, Virat take RCB to victory

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their sensational away run, winning their sixth consecutive match on the road. RCB comfortably outclassed Delhi Capitals by six wickets, successfully chasing down 163 on a two-paced pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. Krunal Pandya was the star of the evening for RCB, smashing an unbeaten 73 off just 47 balls after delivering a miserly spell of left-arm spin. It was Krunal's first fifty-plus score in the IPL since his debut season in 2016. Virat Kohli also continued his fine form in run-chases, scoring 51 off 47 balls - his fourth fifty-plus score in IPL 2025 while chasing.

SKY, Bumrah help MI seal fifth win

Mumbai Indians outplayed Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs to record their fifth consecutive win  on Sunday. Rising like a phoenix, MI raised hopes of a playoffs berth, thus putting to rest the bad memories of a forgettable campaign last year. It was proper teamwork that helped MI call the shots in this crucial game. While the fiery pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah (4/22) and Trent Boult (3/20) were their chief heroes with the ball, the architects of the five-time champions’ thumping victory were the in-form Suryakumar Yadav (54) and South African opener Ryan Rickelton (58). Chipping in with vital allround contributions were Will Jacks (29) and South African allrounder Corbin Bosch (20).

Sunrisers beat Chennai

Chennai Super Kings were beaten by five wickets by Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. The match coincided with MS Dhoni’s milestone 400th T20 match. Put in to bat first, Chennai were bundled out for 154 in 19.5 overs. Earlier, both teams have had contrasting make-ups for the 2025 season, with SRH primed to dominate the batting charts this season. Pitted at the far end of that spectrum with a weary-looking batting unit, CSK have struggled to put on the big runs consistently through the league. And yet, both times are riding the same boat, with another defeat fatal to their respective Playoffs hopes.

Delhi thrash Lucknow

Opener Abishek Porel and KL Rahul struck half centuries and shared a 69-run partnership as Delhi Capitals thrashed Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets in their IPL match in Lucknow. Chasing 160 for victory, Porel scored 51 off 36 balls, while inform Rahul struck an unbeaten 57 to make it a one-sided contest, as DC completed the task in 17.5 overs. Skipper Axar Patel made 34 not out off 20 balls. Rahul also completed 5,000 runs in IPL on way to his half-century. Earlier, a fantastic exhibition of clever variations by Delhi’s pace troika, coupled with an injury to skipper Rishabh Pant, left Lucknow Super Giants in complete tatters as the hosts managed only 159 for 6.
