BCCI to upgrade stadiums ahead of ODI world cup

In preparation for the ODI World Cup in India in October–November, the BCCI is planning a substantial makeover of at least five significant venues at an estimated cost of more than £50 million.
The game has attracted huge money over the past 10 years, making the BCCI, the richest board in the world, richer. The stoic fan, who has helped shape the game into what it is today, is frequently denied access to even the most basic amenities at most stadiums around the nation. In February and March, during the India-Australia Test series, Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium's lack of clean restrooms sparked outrage among the crowd.
It is not surprising that Delhi is among the five venues which underwent a gap assessment from the BCCI. A gap assessment outlines the existing gaps between the current and ideal future state of an organisation.
The other locations, according to the media's list, are Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mohali. Before the India-Australia one-day internationals last month, the Wankhede in Mumbai underwent renovations in response to a fan's complaint about the infamous stadium's unsanitary surroundings. The costs are significant even when one disregards the price of a new roof, which is not an option, at least in Delhi, due to structural issues with the site.
