BCCI council to review probe panel’s report on Saha

The BCCI Apex Council will review the probe committee's report concerning India wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha, who had accused a journalist of intimidating him, at its meeting on April 23. The BCCI had formed a three-member panel comprising vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal and Apex Council member Prabhtej Bhatia to probe Saha's allegation. The 37-year-old India discard appeared before the Committee last month and so did the accused journalist Majumdar and presented their respective versions. Saha had alleged that Majumdar intimidated him for not giving him an interview. BCCI is expected to close the matter at the Apex Council meeting. “Review of the Committee report on issue concerning Wriddhiman Saha,” read item no. 4 on the meeting agenda.

Inquiry against IOA chief Batra

The CBI has registered an inquiry against the president of Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Narinder Dhruv Batra, and unknown officials of Hockey India to probe allegations of misappropriation of official funds. Besides the IOC, Batra is also the head of the International Hockey Federation (FIH). Sources said that the agency was likely to record Batra's statement by next week. At present, the CBI will obtain and analyse the transactions and account details, sources said. The inquiry was registered on a complaint alleging that Rs 35,00,000 of Hockey India was spent by Batra and some other office holders for personal benefits, officials said.

RR’s Coulter-Nile to miss IPL due to side strain
