Boon to readers

Having not yet received my ABPL calendar for 2015, I was a bit worried that my copy may have gone astray. On making enquiries of ABPL Office, I was reassured that the calendars will be sent out with this week’s edition of AV and GS.

What a relief! For me, they are indespensable. I am general secretary of Shree Jain Sangh East London and Essex and it falls on me to plan for various events during the year and make bookings for halls and inform the membership of the dates and venues for the functions we will be celebrating.

As halls for hire are like gold dust in the vicinity, we must plan earlier and make advance bookings before they are taken up by others. This is where the ABPL calendar comes to the rescue.

The calendar clearly shows the dates for all Hindu, Jain and Christian relogious festivals like Diwali, Paryushan, Mahavir Jayanti, Jain Varshitap, Ayambil Oli and Maha Shivratri, Holi, Makarsankratri and others.

It also gives additional information regarding India’s Republic Day and India’s Independence Day together with dates for Poonam and Amas. These are all shown with appropriate pictures or photos so that it is easy to identify them and make appropriate planning.

The calendar is free to subscribers and comes in addition to the periodical supplements which we get from time to time.
I wonder what other weekly or monthly publication provides these kind of free benefits for its readers!
