EU obesity ruling

Mr Stevenson the head of NHS, launched a programme to fight Britain's obesity, when he rightly spoke out against EU court of justice ruling that obesity is inevitable. ( so Saturday Times reported).

Under the NHS plan, doctors will be asked to identify people who have gained weight and are at risk to get diabetes which leads to very serious conditions. Those identified as overweight, will be given help, support and advise.  An excellent plan to deal with the root cause of the problem.
People must lead responsible and disciplined life style to keep healthy.
Overeating  leading to obesity certainly is not inevitable. Over indulgence of any kind is harmful. Our NHS is unable to cope with emergencies, yet  it is spending exorbitant amount of money for stomach surgeries to treat obesity.
EU polices leading to such judgments, including ban on Indian mangoes are senseless, waste of public money  and must be discarded.
