Death and Devastation

Early estimates indicate that over 6,500 people have died in a massive earthquake which hit Nepal on Saturday, 25 April and the death toll is expected to rise.

Along with the many Indian organisations in the UK which have responded to the appeal for help members of Shree Jain Sangh East London and Essex, have also made a small contribution to this humanitarian cause.

What could be done to prevent such disasters from happening again? It is time for governments to do more to protect the environment. This could be achieved by reducing global warming and conserving an ecological balance by avoiding the depletion of natural resources like trees and forests – by creating sustainability.
