With reference to the letter printed in Asian Voice dated 4th April 15 with regards to International Women’s day cerebrated at  Neasden Temple that Swaminarayan sect does not belong to Hindus as it was founded by Purustotum (Sahajanand Swami).
In fact Sahajanand Swami was a  Hindu priest who saw injustice done to women in his time.  Sahajanand Swami (Brahmin from Utter Pradesh) wrote code of conduct  called Shikshapatri  to uplift the Hindu society. He gave women equality, respect and dignity as sated in Hindu scriptures. Shikshapatri is a guidance to mankind how to live morally right way. This rules were written in that particular period when social structure was different than to day.
Even though Hindu women is portrait as Devi, she is the most suffering human being in this planet. Inequality still persist in this modern time. This can only be changed if to days women’s can stand up for their equal rights. But again many of Hindu women are even though  educated are weak or fearful to bring change against injustice done to them.
Today Swaminarayan women are well educated and are working and progress.
It is we human being, for our selfishness and greed twist the values of religion. This happens in all religion of the world. Lets respects everyone’s belief and live as one family of the world with peace.
