'Remember, there stands a statue of Gujarati on Parliament Square ' wrote Alpesh Patel in his regular column Political Sketchbook of Asian Voice last week.
It sounds better, mature and correct to say it was statue of an Indian than describing it as Gujarati.
If a similar event was organised by say Asian Voice/Gujarat Samachar than the word Gujarati would be fine.
I myself am a proud Gujarati but prefer India/Indian word is used more often.
