Rejoice, Alphonso mangos are here to stimulate your taste buds.
Most Indians, who came here from all over the world, still crave for tropical fruits like seedless guava, pineapple, green coconuts, juicy sugarcane and above all sweet, tasty Indian Alphonso mangos. So when EU imposed arbitrary ban, most Indians went into self-imposed, unintentional depression!
Now it is time to rejoice, as EU has unanimously lifted the ban in time for mango season that begins in May and lasts until September. Our heartfelt thanks must go to everyone who fought tooth and nail against this unjust arbitrary ban, especially to AV/GS, Priti Patel, Seems Malhotra, PM David Cameron and above all Keith Vaz, loyal friend of Indian community who has stood by us in our hour of need, whether it is caste discrimination bill or Baba Ramdave being illegally detained at the airport. Although ban still remains on other products such as bitter gourds and aubergines, it is only question of time before it will be lifted, as under dynamic PM Modi, India is working hard to improve standard and exporting exotic fruits and vegetables throughout the world, Gujarat taking pride of place, being in the forefront, growing popular products under glass houses, plastic covered domes using renewable energy.
Summer time will be a happy time for the Indian community.
