The decision by India’s supreme court last week was correct albeit looks slightly half hearted. If most of the Islamic countries, including India’s neighbour Pakistan, do not allow triple talak then how come some Muslim male leadership in India are bent upon the retention of this most inhuman talak system.
During my last visit to India in December I have spoken to quite a few people mainly women including some Muslim neighbour from Jamnagar who abhor this system of instant divorce.
I genuinely feel that my sisters in India must be liberated with this supreme court decision.
