Spend thrift PM Boris

Britain is indeed going through most turbulent and tumultuous time, politically, economically and socially since end of WW2. Brexit has divided nation as never before. Politicians on both sides have such polarised opinion that they are more faithful to their Brexit ideology than to their party. These kindergarten hucksters are even willing to bring down their own government to stop Boris from walking away without an agreement, even though they all know how humiliating experience it was for PM May. These medieval tactics may badly back-fire, putting Corbin in No 10!

Boris is not Mrs May. He is made of sternal stuff, ready, able and willing to go to the nation if Parliament obstructs his plans to take Britain out of EU by 31st October. If general election follows, many Tory MPs will lose their seats; some may even be deselected by their constituencies. This is akin to cut one’s nose to spite the face! With spending spree by PM Boris, it seems he is preparing for general election if Parliament rejects his “No Deal Exit” which seems to be certain, as Labour, SDP and SNP, supported by rebel Conservatives command majority in HOC.

PM Boris’s first act was to promise recruitment of 20,000 police in view of deteriorating situation on law and order. This may take some time, as so many police stations are closed and training instructors made redundant. Police badly needs equipment, tsar guns, firearms and bullet-proof vests, few among many necessary items they need to make policing safe. But with Priti Patel, a determined, dedicated and efficient MP as Home Secretary, she would succeed where others have failed. PM’s second promise is to give NHS £1:8 billion, in addition to £20 billion already promised. Although this sounds generous when money is tight, in reality it may only scratch the surface, as £6 billion is urgently needed to repair crumbling hospital buildings. This could only come from either raising taxes or scrapping ever bulging Overseas Aid budget. It is time ideology takes second place to our welfare!
