Second referendum

This may be mere speculation, but if there were to be a second referendum on our exit from the EU, would Britain vote to remain in the EU? With the passage of time and with hindsight, and with the negotiations which have taken place so far, we are now much wiser than we were a couple of years ago when Britain decided by 51 to 49 votes to come out of the EU. It now transpires that we have much to lose and llittle to gain by coming out of the strong and powerful organisation like the European Union. Many financial institutions have already made advanced plans to move their headquarters from Britain to France and Luxembourg.

How would Britain’s coming out of the EU impact on its position as a trading country? If the referendum was a little hasty decision, is there a case for second referendum? Probably not, but as negotiations for Britain’s exit from the European Union are continuing, I was apalled to learn that Britain is being asked to pay vast sums of money for border security and for remaining in the customs union. On the contrary, Brirtish negotiators should try and clawback the billions of pounds which we have contributed towards the running of the EU since 1974, and in bailing out its sick partners. Make it tough for EU negotiators and ask for refund of UK’s investments in the EU projects and loans we have given to the EU.
