Although people knew that it was only a question of time before Prince Harry gets engage to Meghan Markle whom he has been courting for a year, it still took the nation by storm. While it took a long time for Princess Diana to charm the public, attain popular “People’s Princess” title, it seems Meghan is indeed in a hurry to make her mark on the adoring British public. Her walk-around in Nottingham with Harry, their first “Royal Outing” together was a great success, as she was at ease, chatting with people who were patiently waiting for her, as if she has been doing such walk-about all her life!
Then Meghan is a highly acclaimed actress, TV super star, used to public adoration while attending numerous functions that goes with her celebrity status. She is also much in the news for her charitable, humanitarian work under UN auspices, fighter for women’s rights, helping down-trodden people, icon of inclusiveness that has given her supreme confidence while appearing in public, facing cameras under bright lights that other members of the royal family were not used to before their marriage. Could she change royal family’s perceived image, equate herself, even put other family members in shade? Watching diligently other family members paying lip-service, it seems not everyone is at ease with Meghan mania!
Being American and of mix race, she will certainly galvanize Royal corridor; bring variety, charm, inclusiveness and dignity to the Royal household. I am sure her marriage; scheduled to take place in May 2018 will attract world-wide attention, the biggest TV audience in Royal history.
