In the later part of the 20th century the West espoused the human rights, freedom of expression, gender equality and democratic values after burying their violent and inhuman past.
Now in the 21st century those values, it seems, are entombed in preference to gratification of the material greed.
The West’s leader president Trump during his visits abroad loudly proclaimed agreements on (mainly armaments) contracts worth billions of dollars at various capital cities in the world with total disregard to non-commitment to their espoused values by the countries of those capitals. It is also true for the rest of the Western countries.
The UN (which was created to maintain peace and advance humanity in the world) is unable to play their assigned role either without the firm backing of the West or for the greed of receiving funding from wealthy offending donners. Is the world being governed by the greed alone?
