Glued to the Chair

The recently published 'Charity Clarity' articles were not only interesting, but enlightening as well and spoke about the responsibilities of the trustees of different charity organisations.

I know a chairperson of an organisation who holds designations of importance in 4-5 other institutions as well.

This gentleman in particular, is always looking for some or the other way to make sure the authority of these groups remain in his hands. He his strangely stuck to his title and the perks that come with it. He makes sure the reins of control are always with him.

One year he is the trustee, another year he is the president, and in the third, the minister. Because he runs these organisations like he owns them, more people fail to join and new events and programmes aren't conducted. It is because of leaders like him that establishments wither away instead of growing.

The general public are so fed up of them that they don't even go to the AGM and the result is a circle of election between the same 25 to 30 members again and again and again.

For just how many organisations can a single person work? Even if they are passionate about all the causes, would they be able to give justice to what they do? How can they even come up with new and unique plans to help their beliefs grow? Leaders like them are the true enemies of the society and they are the ones who pose harm.
