Elected government

In an interview [Indira Gandhi-Interview-TV Eye-1978, accessible on Youtube], Mrs. Gandhi asked “In a parliamentary democracy, is a judge competent to override what parliament has done?” With the Indian courts increasingly trying to meddle in all aspects of the government, I think her question is very relevant today. It is not for the courts to try to set up a parallel government. The judges are not elected by the people, the government is.
