After cheerful celebrations of Navratri/Diwali/Tulsi Vivah, it is time to cogitate about communities’ annual celebrations. Devotees celebrate anniversary of victory of Ram and divine energies (Matajees) thousands of years ago. But they banished evil forces of darkness temporarily. From then till now, negative and positive forces have evolved, struggled against each other and survived, due to shifting of values as more knowledge is revealed. Victories relate to clash of cultures, supremacy and power struggle among human beings (manav, danav and devatas) of those days.

These festivals acknowledge energies are inherent in devotees which is a matter to be happy. It is reminder that armed with these energies all have to struggle continuously against negative forces. Whatever success is achieved is also a matter to be cheerful. All devotees must participate, by lighting a small lamp, individually to be effective collectively.

Negative forces can also be fought by ones physical health via healthy foods, and good mental health via cheerfulness, meditation and prayers. This can lead to individual’s inner cleansing, generate environment for positive forces to strike roots in an individual and collectively in society.

Vigorous festivities during Navratri and Diwali revivifies ones physical and spiritual resources till next year.
