Canonisation of Mother Teresa

I refer to the recent letters in Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar by Jayesh A Patel regarding Mother Teresa. His bitterness towards her is unjustifiable. Gandhi got India independence and did not live long after that to make any impact on the country.

Nehru “ruled” the country for God knows how many years but his legacy is seen every where in India and that is poverty. Nehru’s biggest legacy is Nehru Dynasty to rule India. Nobel prizes are awarded by a committee who has to be satisfied with the cause and reward. With regard £75million collected by Mother Teresa she did not give in a palatial home or lead a life of luxury which was Nehru Dynasty has done.
