Bank of Baroda

I would like to tell you about my recent experience of the Bank of Baroda in India when I went there this February. I have visited the bank previously in 2009 and 2013 and both times I have had similar experiences.

When I went recently it took me three and a half hours to to get RS 8000.00 from my account even though I had all my IDs and cheque book. I was asked to go from one desk to another and when I was finally seen the clerk did not even look at my papers but started to deal with someone who pushed in front of me.

There was no queue system or manners. The clerk didn’t even look up and ask ‘Can I help you?’ but instead when he did look up he made me feel as if I was not welcome. Many of my friends and family have had similar expriences when I told them about how I was treated.

I even saw a lady who was with a child and was crying. When I asked to her what was the matter, the lady said “I have been here for five hours. I have all my IDs and I have enough funds in my account but they won’t give me the money I need. My child and I have had nothing to drink or eat all this time we have been here.”

It looked like the staff did not know their job, yet they had all the equipment like computers etc. The customers just sat around the desks with the clerk who was behind the desk looking lost. The ad says Bank of Baroda is a world class bank. I dont know about that but they must do things to improve the current image.
