Bad administration

Mr Vishnubhai Patel’s letter in Gujarat Samachar (9-2-2017) and Bharat Sachania’s letter (Gujarat Samachar (2-12-2017), should have been printed in English edition of Asian Voice too. Both these letters are in Gujarati only, implies that only Gujarati readers are aware and concerned about bad administration by office bearers, pin pointing to Gujaratis without naming any organizations or office bearers. Information must reach English speaking youth to motivate them to get involved during administrative procedures and major/minor events.

Office bearers cannot please every member. Some criticize, without any concerns about good intentioned efforts of those office bearers. Some are aged elders capable of many good suggestions but incapacitated due to use of walking aids and hearing aids. Efforts of capable members must be appreciated.

Posting publicity material eg circulars, notices, details of programs etc, is a costly procedure. Many councils have cut off grants, forcing organizations to economize. Thus postage may be replaced with e-mails and press columns. So, organizations publicize all major programs and events via generous Gujarat Samachar or Asian Voice free of costs. All members must keep up contact by buying these newspapers, or using its web address.

Too much postage is wasted when members change address or die, and organization is not informed. Even life members who pay only once, do not keep contact and then blame the organization. When such life member dies, organization is not informed, by any one and family expects postage-contact, which is a loss that organization cannot afford.

Therefore, please join your favorite organization and reduce strain on bona fide workers and volunteers. Leave a healthy asset for future generations, refined and polished by your contribution.
